About
A Texas firm focused on walls and hardscape
DirtSavers, LLC is a Texas engineering firm based in Aledo. We design retaining walls, screen walls, entry monuments, shade structures and the foundations under them, and we seal the plans for permit. Since 2011 the firm has delivered more than 2,000 sealed designs for more than 100 contractors, builders and developers across Texas. See the projects →
How we work
- Your schedule is a priority. We value our clients' business and their time. Tell us your bid date or permit deadline and we plan the work with it in mind.
- Value engineering without cutting corners. We look for the design that costs less to build without giving up strength, durability or safety. The savings come from better design, never from a weaker structure.
- Plans written for the people who build them. We pay attention to construction methods, layout and cost, so the plans work for the crew in the field as well as the reviewer at the city.
- Clear communication. Owners, contractors and design teams get answers from the engineer on the job.
Who we work with
Retaining wall, hardscape, masonry and landscape contractors; stone yards and their customers; home builders and developers; landscape architects; and homeowners with a wall problem. Contractors can bring the wall style they build, and developers can bring us in at 30% design.
Engineer of record
Every set of plans is engineered and sealed by Mike Marshall, P.E., the firm's founder and a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas since 2011. He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006. Before founding DirtSavers he worked in construction surveying, cost estimating and land development value engineering for a Fortune 500 homebuilder, and that field and cost experience shapes how the firm designs.
